Have you ever heard someone say they don't trust banks? It's usually amongst the older folks who like to do everything with cash and keep it on them.

A 67-year-old man from China didn't trust his bank to hold on to his life savings so he instead buried the money underground, according to Yahoo. For the past five years his money has been stashed in a carrier bag. Recently, the former fisherman went to take some cash out of the pile only to discover worms and insects had eaten half of his savings!

Sadly the bag proved to be biodegradable and fell apart..."

Ironically, the bank that the man didn't trust in the first place, allowed him to swap out the cash that were in good enough condition for fresh bills. Over $2,000 was unsalvagable.

Word to the wise: Trust your bank. Or keep your money in your underwear drawer.
