On Monday, a Muskegon County Circuit Court judge sentenced Ronald Williams to 18.5-55 years in prison for the murder of Bobbie Maples.

Maples disappeared in December 2014, only 11 days after giving birth to her daughter. Her body was found buried and wrapped in plastic under some concrete in January 2016. Her mouth and nose were taped shut and there was a plastic bag sealed over her head. Williams pleaded no contest to a second-degree murder charge back in August.

Maples' mother, Muriel, made a statement at the sentencing, telling the judge, "Please do not let him out at the 18-and-a-half year mark as he will still be old enough to do this again," MLive reports.

In August, Williams plead no contest to the charges against him. He testified that he was the only person with Maples when she died and that he had given her heroine. Maples' official cause of death was ruled as homicidal asphyxiation.

Williams was already serving time in prison on drug-related charges.
