A man (stole?) an iPhone from a toddler as he was standing a few feet away from mom. However, the thief says he offered baby a few dollars for the smartphone.

Everything went down in New York City. The toddler was playing with the phone while his mom was clothes shopping just an arms length away. The thief came up to the baby while his mom was distracted and asked the baby if he could give him $2 for it. When the baby gave up the phone the guy tossed the cash and booked out.

The little boy told his mom and employees of the store tried to catch the thief to no avail.

Later, the phone was found using an app called "find my iPhone". The thief had cashed in it for $50 to support a drug habit.

He recently pleaded guilty and is facing between 2-3 years jail time.
