Ever chaperone your kid's school trip? Maybe a high school dance where you had to make sure the "foot rule" was in effect (that awkward hands to waist /shoulders shuffle, aimed to deter "grinding" "freaking" or, back in the day, "dirty dancing").  What if your kid were 25?  Lady Gaga's mom doesn't seem to think there's an age limit on serving as a chaperone. Tabloids report she'll be joining her daughter on tour to make sure the pop superstar doesn't drink too much.

Cynthia Germanotta, 56, is said to be concerned about her daughter's health after she collapsed during a show last year, and plans to keep a watchful eye on the singer to make she eats properly and cuts down on her alcohol intake when she is away from home.

A friend of the star - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - told The Sun newspaper: "She may be one of the biggest, and strangest, pop stars in the world but her relationship with her parents is very traditional. She is from a typical loving Italian-American background and her family have normal parental concerns.

"Her mum thinks she drinks too much and doesn't eat enough. She has gone along to keep an eye on her drinking and feed her up."
