This weekend I found an amazing movie on Netflix. As the weather cools and we find ourselves indoors more, I feel like now is the time to share this. It's a MUST WATCH! It's called "Devil's Knot..."

...Don't worry, it's not a crazy paranormal movie, it's scarier than that.

It's a true story about the Memphis Three, three teens from West Memphis that were accused, charged and found guilty of murdering three young boys in the woods in 1993. Okay, sounds graphic, and it is, but that's not the freakiest part of this movie.

How does it get worse?

The fact that the police, public, and court were so desperate to hold someone accountable, that they may have convicted three totally innocent teens, now adults. It's presented almost as a modern day Salem Witch Trial.

As new evidence became available, the three were eventually freed after entering an Alford plea on three counts of first degree murder. The judge then re-sentenced them to 18 years already served. So essentially, they got out of jail, but the charges never dropped. It's a bit confusing, but this story from CNN explains it.

I'm not sure what is more scary: the idea that the real killer could be out there; three innocent teens were convicted due to fear, desperation and police incompetence; or the idea that three actual killers were released from jail early?

You decide, check out the movie. It's pretty good, even better when you research some of the facts after you finish up the movie.

Regardless, a great movie that will get you thinking!

What is your Netflix recommendation?
