Lack Of Exercise Could Be More Deadly Than Obesity
New research suggest it's time to get off our butts and get moving! Literally!
This Cambridge research suggests that how much a person works out is a better way of predicting risk of dying prematurely, rather than how obese a person may be.
The New York Daily News reports that burning roughly 100 calories a day could be enough to reduce the risk. That's about the equivalent to a 20 minute walk. This can take a person from the "inactive" category to "moderately inactive," which would reduce the chance for premature death by 30%.
Moral of the story? Get moving!
