I have a pretty balanced love-hate relationship with renting, the company that owns the apartment I live in has a love-love relationship with entering my unit. My love-hate scale is starting to slide away from the "love" side of things. Am I being unreasonable here?

I won't publicly put the apartment complex I live in on blast by name. Overall I've been fairly satisfied since moving in. Rent is about average, the units are kept up pretty well for their age, they are single floor with private entry. Factor in how close they are to pretty much everything, they're actually a pretty good deal.

One could say I'm somewhat happy with my landlord, until I got this...

You might be thinking that's not that big of a deal. It's fairly common for management to do this. Since living in apartments for all of my adult life, I can say what's NOT common is management entering units half a dozen times in under a year.

Since moving in last November, strangers have entered my unit for city inspections, maintenance repairs that I didn't request and now "housekeeping inspections." Did I move into some military barracks?

I'm trying to be reasonable here, and I get the maintenance repairs, but am I being unreasonable by requesting they not enter my unit? I keep my living space clean and neat, and I really don't want them creeping around in my space. Is that so much to ask?

The last place I lived for 3 years, and my unit was only entered for a fire inspections and requested maintenance issues. With that said, I sent this email this morning, and got a very unsatisfying response from management.

I understand they have the right to do this, they're giving me notice and all, but it just seems like it's a bit much.

I'm ready to buy my farm now!

So what do you think? Am I being unreasonable?
