Kalamazoo Public Safety have identified the two victims from last night's shootings as 17 year-old Marsavious Frazier and 17-year-old Daquarion Hunter.

The families have been notified and police continue to investigate the shooting that occurred around 9p.m. on Monday. Police were called to the 1500 block of Clinton avenue and found the two males with gunshot wounds in an alley north of Clinton.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Kalamazoo Public Safety has said that originally some reports stated that an officer was involved in the shooting:

These reports are inaccurate. No officers were involved in this shooting other than to render aid and investigate the incident."

Both victims were Kalamazoo Public School students. Fox 17 reports Superintendent Dr. Michael Rice released a statement Tuesday morning:

"It is a tragedy any time young people lose their lives. Both identified victims were Kalamazoo Public Schools students. Daquarion Hunter graduated from Loy Norrix High School this past June and Marsavious Frazier was a Phoenix High School student."
