The shooting suspect in the February 20 shootings in Kalamazoo which killed six people and wounded two others told officers it was the Uber app that directed him to do the crime. Jason Dalton is in jail awaiting trial for the crimes.

Jason Dalton told interrogating officers that the Uber app would change colors and became a Satanic guide that led him to shoot 8 people in the Kalamazoo area on the night of February 20.

Dalton said the app symbol changed into what he referred to as "The Eastern Star" and then turned colors from red to black while directing him through the shootings. The app turned back to red shortly after police pulled him over, which he said was a sign not to engage the officers in a shootout. Dalton was wearing his son's bulletproof vest at the time of the arrest.

"Dalton described the devil figure as a horned cow head or something like that and then it would give you an assignment and it would literally take over your whole body," it was revealed in Kalamazoo police reports released to the Detroit Free Press and other news outlets by the city's Attorney's Office.

Dalton described it as a 'full body takeover' when he was possessed by the app, which was on his iPhone. He did recall shooting people that night, but little beyond that.

Dalton was psychiatrically evaluated and the Attorney's Office say they will have those results in early May.
