I love animals, so much so, my “life goal” is to one day have a Galápagos tortoise or two that just wander in and out of my house.

But this is just cool and proof that all kinds of animals can form an emotional bond with people. Lately we’ve seen a lot of news stories where elephants are rescued after being locked up for years with circuses, and in these stories, you’ll see the elephant have an emotional reaction toward the rescuers.  Well this video is proof these animals truly do feel emotions a lot like a human.

Darrick is a volunteer at Elephant Nature Park in Thailand.  He’s bonded with a herd of elephants that truly love him.  Watch him call these elephants like he’s calling his dogs, and the love they have for him.

Now I might want an elephant along with the tortoise and monkey.
