You would think that you'd have to be a big-wig or something to be able to afford a private performance from your favorite singer.

Ordinarily, that is the case.

But John Legend is offering a performance by him as a prize in a charity raffle.

For a minimum donation of $10, you get 100 chances to get him to perform a private show for you. The higher the donation, the more chances you get toward possibly having Legend in concert.

Each entry goes toward raising funds to help rebuild the auditorium at his alma mater, the former South High School in Springfield, Ohio.

The historic building is undergoing renovations to hold Global Impact STEM Academy, Greater Springfield CareerConnectED Center and Clark State Community College's food science and aquaculture labs, The Dayton Daily News reported. The auditorium's renovations are to cost up to $2 million.

The contest is happening through his non-profit organization, the Show Me Campaign, which helps impoverished youth.

In a video on his website, he says: "I'm John Legend, arguably one of the most romantic people in the world. Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Love is in the air, and I'm feeling very inspired to spread the love. That's why I want to sing a private show for you."
