It's been three very long, very scary days for the people of Japan. Attempts to dig their cities out from under the rubble and debris left in the wake of Friday's earthquake and subsequent tsunami have been hindered by fear of nuclear meltdowns and more tsunamis.

It's estimated that after the original earthquake, more than 150 aftershocks, the latest one being a 6.2 magnitude one that had many fearing another tsunami.

Many people are without food, water, heat or electricity as this tragedy continues. At least 1.4 million households had gone without water since the quake struck and some 1.9 million households were without electricity.

Preliminary estimates put repair costs from the earthquake and tsunami in the tens of billions of dollars — a huge blow for an already fragile economy that lost its place as the world's No. 2 to China last year.
