Ja Rule Turned Down Ludacris’ ‘Fast and the Furious’ Role [Video]

Ludacris has been in four of the The Fast and the Furious movies, including Furious 7 out last week.

However, Ludacris' role initially could have gone to Ja Rule, who had a cameo in the first movie in 2001, The Fast and the Furious.

John Singleton directed the second movie in the series, 2 Fast, 2 Furious.

"Ja got too big for himself. He turned it down. He turned down a half a million dollars," Singleton told Grantland. "He got $15,000 to be in the first movie. He was really big at that time. ...

"He was acting like he was too big to be in the sequel. He wouldn't return calls. ... (So) I called Ludacris. (He) was all humble; excited to meet me. I said, 'I'm doing this movie; ... want to be a part of it?' He goes, 'What? Yeah!'''
