HopCat Named #2 Favorite Beer Bar In The U.S.
Last week, I told you that HopCat in downtown Grand Rapids, along with Founder’s tap room, were up for the title of Great American Beer Bar. Well, with the help of the people of Grand Rapids, Hopcat was named the number two beer bar in the entire country!
CraftBeer.com asked their readers to nominate their favorite craft beer bars in the country, and were inundated with over 3,300 nominations from all over the country. They then narrowed the choices down to the 10 most nominated bars in each of the five regions of the country. Almost 30,000 votes were cast, resulting in the top three overall and regional winners. Voting was conducted from September 13 until September 20, 2012.
Don’t think that Founder’s was left out to dry, though. They ranked second (right behind HopCat) in the North Central Region.
HopCat announced on their Facebook page on Tuesday that they will be celebrating this victory on Monday, October 8th with a party in their bar. They’ll be selling Michigan beers for just $1.50 per pint starting at 6pm.
