In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, Gwyneth Paltrow admitted to a rather odd parenting behavior. Bathing with her kids.

Now, I understand that sometimes, this is a necessity (showering off after the pool, etc.), but definitely not something that I thought parents did other than when they absolutely had to.

She admitted to the magazine that sometimes she and her kids, Apple (7) and Moses (5) share some familial tub time.

Paltrow noted that she and her husband (Coldplay frontman Chris Martin) trade off on a lot of parenting duties, but cooking and bathing are the two things that she consistently does with the kids.

I would think that perhaps her kids are a bit old to be bathing together and especially to be bathing with mom.

According to experts who spoke with iVillage.com, by the time kids reach pre-school age, parents should probably back off of the group bathing. Especially when kids begin to notice body parts. It helps reinforce the idea that some of our body parts are private and shouldn't be shared with other people. And, I think this goes without saying, but this is especially important for parents of the opposite gender of their kids.

Do you take baths with your kids? At what age did you stop having your children bathe together?
