Gun Discharged in Kalamazoo High School Bathroom

A gun discharged in the bathroom of Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo Tuesday afternoon. The incident prompted a lock down for more than an hour.

According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, there were no injuries during the incident.

The weapon has been located and the students involved have been identified and will face mandatory expulsion and arrest, according to a release from Kalamazoo Public Schools.

Loy Norrix was placed on lockdown from 1 p.m. until roughly 2:24 p.m. while officials investigated the incident, according to the release.
