A good deed should never go unnoticed, and it didn't when one Grand Rapids Police officer spotted a motorist in need of assistance on Hall Street.

A citizen was driving by when she spotted Officer Huffman changing a tire. Lacy Jones snapped a picture and immediately posted it to Facebook.

I WAS ROLLING THRU THE HOOD ON HALL STREET TODAY & SAW OFFICER HUFFMAN DOING SOME REAL COMMUNITY POLICING HELPING A BROTHA CHANGE HIS TIRE. THERE ARE A LOT OF GOOD OFFICERS OUT HERE MY PPL! I HAD TO PULL OVER & SHAKE HIS HAND. ‪#‎LoveMyppl‬‪#‎LaceJones‬‪#‎iam‬

These are the stories the news media have a hard time reporting. I'm not saying they don't, but it's much easier for them to report on the officer who used too much force, than an officer helping a citizen.

What you see in the photo below happens way more than the national news will allow you to believe.

Props to the Grand Rapids Police Department for properly serving the community.

Thanks Lacy Jones for the acknowledgment! Just one of the many small things our officers do on a daily basis.
