GRCC is set to receive $4.1 million in grant money.  The college is part of the Michigan Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing, which was awarded a much larger $24.9 million grant, of which GRCC gets a share.

GRCC will use the money used to upgrade manufacturing programs, purchase equipment better suited to teach advances in manufacturing and also for new equipment to grow their current educational programs.

From Fox17Online.com:

“We are excited to be a part of this project,” said Julie Parks, GRCC’s director of Workforce Training and the Tassell M-TEC. “This was truly a group effort. Local manufacturing partners Autocam Corp., Roman Manufacturing, Leprino Foods, and Wolverine Coil Spring, and employers from Talent 2025 were key partners in this grant effort. ”
