The Grand Rapids Police Department is warning residents of a scam involving people going door-to-door claiming to be raising money for a charity.

Police and the Boys and Girls club of Grand Rapids have received complaints of two men claiming to be students at Ottawa Hills High School, going door-to-door asking for donations for the Boys and Girls Club.

The director of the Boys and Girls Club in Grand Rapids told the GRPD that they will never conduct door-to-door fundraisers.

The organization is working with the GRPD and Grand Rapids Public Schools to make sure nothing similar happens moving forward.

If you have been a victim of the scam, or have information about the suspects, please call police at 456-3400, or Silent Observer at 774-2345.
