Looking for a new career? The Grand Rapids Police Department is hiring police officers.

The post went up Thursday afternoon on the GRPD Facebook page. According to the official job bulletin the position pays between $43,000 and $69,000 a year. Applicants have until September 10 to submit an application.

Those interested must meet the basic requirements:

• Citizen of the United States
• Minimum Age of Eighteen (18)
• Proof of High School graduation or a General Educational Development (GED) Certificate
• Possession of a Valid State of Michigan Driver's License
• Be licensed or eligible for licensing by MCOLES as of November 30, 2015
• Meet all MCOLES Standards, including good moral character as defined by MCOLES standards, 20/20 corrected vision in both eyes and the absence of color blindness.

If you're interested, yet haven't gone through MCOLES training, you can contact Grand Rapids Community College to inquire about their police academy, which is held at the DeVos Campus on Fulton.
