Failing lift gates are the latest reason for a recall that includes almost 780,000 GM crossover SUVs.

The problem, according to WOOD-TV 8, is the rear power lift gate can fail which will cause it to suddenly fall, and could hit someone standing under it.

The recall includes the Buick Enclave from 2008 to 2012, Chevy Traverse from 2009 to 2012, GMC Acadia from 2007 to 2012, and the Saturn Outlook from 2007 to 2010.

So far 56 injuries have been reported. Dealerships will replace faulty struts along with updating the lift gate control software.
