A Lowell Middle School student hit her head on the hardwood floor during a basketball game, but the injury ended up saving her life.  Twelve-year-old Brianna Laux was hit in the temple during her game, and was having trouble breathing and had to be taken out of the game.  Laux was sent to DeVos Children's Hospital where the doctors discovered bleeding on her brain.

After the doctors reduced the swelling in her brain, the doctors found a Arteriovenous Malformation, a rare disorder.  This disorder could affect her speech, mobility, eyesight, and learning ability.  The doctors underwent surgery for her, which fortunately was successful. Now, Laux is a happy, healthy girl playing basketball again.

Fox 17 has the full interview with Laux here.
