Plans to unveil the new Gerald R. Ford statue at the presidential museum were pushed up by a couple of days to clear the schedule for a much more somber event...the arrival of Betty Ford's body.

The former first lady died on Friday at the age of 93 and will lie in repose at the museum Wednesday starting at 7 p.m.

Originally, the eight foot statue was set to be unveiled on Thursday to celebrate the former, late president's birthday.

Instead, Betty Ford's funeral will be held Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church at Plymouth and Hall in Grand Rapids --- before her burial next to her husband at the museum.
