Why play football and bowling separately when you can just combine the two?! Fowling is a sport that has elements of football, bowling and horseshoes. The objective of the game is to knock all of the opposing team's bowling pins down first, using a football.

Since opening in 2014, the Fowling Warehouse in Hamtramck, has seen a lot of success and is now expanding to the west side of the state. The Fowling Warehouse Grand Rapids has been approved by Cascade Township to open at the vacant lot on 28th street, where Family Fare used to be. The Warehouse will include 30 lanes, two bars and a stage for live performances.

Although approved by the township, some Cascade residents are not happy and trying to oppose this new sport coming to the area.

During fowling, if you knock ONLY the middle pin on your first throw, it's called a "Bonk" which then a "bonk honk" sounds off. People are concerned that the sound will be too much for neighboring homes. The owner of the Grand Rapids location, says that the horn will be toned down compared to the Hamtramck location, where there aren't any homes nearby.

Some parents also have further concerns about children walking safely in the area, since they will be near a bar.

No word yet on when the Fowling Warehouse Grand Rapids will officially open but you can get an idea of what it will be like with the video below.
