As reports of flu-like symptoms skyrocket in southwest Michigan, statewide reports of the flu have hit another seasonal high in Michigan.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reports a total of 232 patient visits out of 10,546 were due to influenza-like illness in Michigan for the week ending February 13, 2016. 47 people were hospitalized for the flu in Michigan during the week which brings the seasonal total to 106.

Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Illinois are all currently experiencing similar flu activity described as "regional". Wisconsin's flu activity is lower, while some surrounding states are experiencing "widespread" activity.
