It's been over 4 months since Fennville basketball player Wes Leonard died after scoring the game-winning shot to clinch a perfect season, but Leonard will never be forgotten.

The Fennville Boys Basketball team was in Los Angeles Wednesday night for the ESPY awards.  They were nominated by ESPN for "Best Sports Moment" against NASCAR's Trevor Bayne and MLB's Roy Halladay.  Roy Halladay won for pitching a no-hitter in the playoffs.

Rubbing elbows with sports superstars and celebrities will provide a lifetime of memories, but let's remember what is really important.  Let's remember Wes Leonard and let's recognize the grace with which this team and community pulled together after his death to honor him.

It really doesn't matter that the team didn't win.  We are all proud of the Fennville Boys Basketball team.  The whole country is.
