After Paul Walker died, questions understandably were raised about the future of ‘Fast And the Furious 7,’ the latest installment in the franchise. Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, had an integral role in the film, and filming actually wasn’t completed before his death. So what’s going to happen?

The show will go on, and the movie will still be released. Walker’s death put a temporary halt to production of the street racing flick, but director James Wan told TMZ that there are no plans to abandon the movie completely.

When asked how the cast and crew are holding up, Wan said, “They’re very sad. They’re very somber. But we’re dealing with it.”

A source told Us Weekly, “No change. People are still dealing with it.
Studio is trying to do the right thing while keeping the franchise going as well.”

Universal Pictures released a statement last week about the fate of the flick. ”Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended ‘Fast & Furious’ family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on ‘Fast & Furious 7′ for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker.”

Thankfully, most of Walker’s scenes were completed before his death — but no word yet on how the remaining portions of the film will be adjusted.
