Family Drops Baby From Window To Escape Fire
A family of eight had some scary moments last night after their home on Kalamazoo Avenue in Grand Rapids went up in flames.
As the smoke detectors went off at 4 o'clock this morning, one of the residents awoke and jumped out of the window, landing in a garbage can.
A neighbor then rushed to help assisting in catching a baby that was dropped out of a second floor window by a 14-year-old occupant.
Luckily there were no major injuries.
With the change in seasons, this is a reminder that today would be a great day to change the batteries in your smoke alarms.
