Failed Detroit Lions Trade Might Have Saved Players’ Life

The Detroit Lions attempted to trade running back Jerome Harrison on Tuesday.

Harrison underwent a physical before the trade was finalized.  Physicals are routinely taken by any player involved in a trade.  The physical on Jerome Harrison discovered a brain tumor.

Harrison is a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School.

Without the trade there would have been no physical.  Without the physical no one knows how long the tumor would have gone undetected.

ESPN reports:

The tumor is now being treated.

Harrison is not expected to play again this season, but his long-term prognosis both for life and his football career appear to be good.
