It was double duty for Drake on Saturday on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."

The rapper, who has a history of acting (having appeared on the Canadian sudser "Degrassi: The Next Generation") hosted and served as the musical guest and he was incredible in both roles.

When he wasn't grabbing laughs with his spot-on impression of silky-haired comedian Kat Williams and as his mentor Lil Wayne, he took the stage to perform. He managed to fit four songs into two performances: 'Started From the Bottom' and 'Trophies' and then 'Hold On, We're Going Home' and 'From Time.' Drake certainly earned his keep in his dual role.

For his first song, October's Very Own performed 'Started From the Bottom' and bled into 'Trophies.' The rapper was bathed in orange and red light with a blackened stage behind him. It was just Drizzy and his voice, and he sorta glowed. You wouldn't know it was 'SNL' since the familiar stage setting and scenery were obscured -- but it was a powerful visual. Of course, Drake, known for his unique, adenoidal vocals, spit his rhymes flawlessly.

He returned to the stage in the same fashion for 'Hold On, We're Going Home,' only this time he was illuminated by a blue light and it was a raw, pretty performance of his latest smash. He brought female singer Jhene Aiko to the stage to perform 'From Time' with him. Those two exhibited some serious chemistry while singing to one another and closed the perf out with a hug.

Yep, Drizzy pretty much owned as the host and the musical guest...but we pretty much expected that. #YMCMB should be proud of its crown prince.
