Celebrity Gossip website TMZ is reporting that American pop culture icon Dick Clark has died at the age of 82 from a massive heart attack.

According to the site, Clark had been in a hospital last night recovering from an outpatient procedure. Following that procedure, they say, he suffered a heart attack and attempts to resuscitate him were not successful.

Details surrounding his death are unclear at this time, though he has had a myriad of health issues in the past. In 2004, Clark suffered a significant stroke, which forced him to retire from his duties hosting "New Year's Rockin' Eve", which he created in 1972.

Before his stroke, he also suffered from Type 2 Diabetes.

Dick Clark was married 3 times, and has 3 children from his two previous marriages.
