Lovato’s collaborator on the bulk of “Demi,” Suspex producer Jason Evigan, told MTV Newslast year that the album was a natural fit.

“I think she’s matured into a woman,” Evigan said of Lovato, a New Mexico native who turned 21 years old last August and lost her estranged father last June.

“I think this album, even though she’s a young lady, her music this album is going to take her to like a Kelly Clarkson now. She’s gonna be like a Pink after this album. All the songs are credible. There’s no cheese! It’s all real classic songs.”
