I haven't had a good rant in awhile, now for my open letter to all those who need to give their mobile devices a break, and look up!

Dear people,

Look up from your phone and see the world.

I saw a lady turning left today on my way to work. She was in the middle of the intersection of Wealthy and Lake Drive, but while she was waiting for traffic to pass she was looking down at her phone, doing God knows what. What could be so important that it required her to take her eyes off the road for an extended period of time, while literally (term used correctly) sitting in the middle of an intersection?

Pay attention!

I was shopping for clothes at the mall on Saturday and 3 kids were waiting for their moms while they were in the dressing rooms. They were all glued to their phones the entire time, which is fine, but they were so oblivious to their surroundings, it was a joke. I know this because I couldn't get them to move from the shelf I was trying to get to.

I want my kids to know what awkward situations are. No way are they going to have the option to bail of "awkward" or "waiting" via their phones. It's a joke, and we adults are setting a terrible example.

Also, get off my lawn.

Love,

Josh
