Crooks are setting up credit card skimmers in more gas stations across the state.

Credit card skimmers are used by thieves to steal your information, and the scariest part is you probably won't know until it's too late.

WOOD-TV 8 reports state inspectors found two skimming devices at two pumps at a station at 76th street near US 131 in Byron Township. Skimmers have also been found at other stations in Kent County and Cass County. They've also spotted skimmers in Shiawassee County between Lansing and Flint.

Thieves secretly install these devices at the gas pump, and when a customer scans a card the information is transmitted to the thief.
