It’s not uncommon for movie studios to recycle their sets between productions, or for different crews to make use of the same locations. For sharp-eyed viewers, this can create the surreal effect of fictional universes overlapping and coexisting with one another. Take Hogan’s Heroes, for instance: the company behind the popular POW camp-set sitcom put the compound on which they shot most of their episodes up for sale after they had wrapped. It was later used for numerous other shoots, most notably in the pornographic Nazi-exploitation film Ilsa, She-Wolf of the S.S.

In a less sad and surreal instance of this same phenomenon, the series finale of Friends included a location that may be familiar to some viewers. Production company 22 Vision has discovered that the house Monica and Chandler move into at the close of the long-running series happens to be the former McCallister residence, also known as the home in which a young Macaulay Culkin was alone in Home Alone. 22 Vision presents their findings in the following video:

The evidence is overwhelming. But who could blame Monica and Chandler for snapping up this property? (“Could I be any more interested in this house?” Chandler deadpanned as he signed the papers, probably.) It’s got lots of spots for strategically placed buckets of marbles, the high ceilings are perfect for elaborate Rube Goldberg machines designed to pulverize intruders, and the owner has made it clear that the ghost of Macaulay Culkin has been all but eradicated from the grounds. Even with the dark past, it’s a steal at twice the price!
