I've mentioned before how much I love it when people attempt to break world records. You get to watch history happen regardless if it's blowing the biggest bubble gum bubble, some sort of food eating contest or even Hula-hooping.

So when Hula Hoopers gathered in Coopersville at Bronco Stadium on Friday night in an attempt to break the record for most people dancing with a hula hoop at one time. I had to see it.

Organizers of the event were hoping to have 1,000 participants, but the bad weather played too much of a factor as a crowd of only 345 gave it a try. The world record attempt fell short, but another attempt is already in the works. WZZM reports that a school district in Australia holds on to its record for 637 people as of now, but the Coopersville community is determined to try it again another day.
