City Reminds GR Residents To Clear Sidewalks
The City of Grand Rapids is reminding residents to clear their sidewalks of snow, or face a penalty.
Wondering how these penalties work? WOOD-TV had a bit of a break down.
- If the city receives a complaint about a snow covered sidewalk a written notice is issued to the property owner.
- The owner has 48 hours to clear the snow.
- If the snow is not cleared, the city will hire a contractor to clear the snow.
- The property owner will be charged $25 for every 15 minutes of labor PLUS a $95 administrative fee.
Remember, clear of your sidewalks. Not only will it cost you, but it's a safety issue as well.
