Tonight was one of those times where I said to myself: "How have I not been here before?!"

I'm honestly disappointed in myself for not going to Rose's, in East Grand Rapids, much sooner but I'm really glad my first time was during Restaurant Week because I had one of the best dinners I've had in a long time and getting to sit on the patio overlooking the lake added to the experience.

A three-course meal was offered and for course #1 was Parmesan Crusted Chicken Thighs w/Heirloom Tomato Salsa, Chive Oil

The chicken was perfectly breaded - not too much, not too little... just right! The salsa was fresh and complimented the chicken which itself was super tender, juicy and flavorful. However, as someone who has a spicy palette I would've liked more of a kick but you better believe that didn't stop me from eating everything on that plate.

But it's all good because I got my fix with the main entree: Thai Crusted Ahi Tuna over Lemon Cucumber Jicama Slaw, Jasmine Rice, Orange Sriracha Aioli, Lemon Persian EVOO

O-M-G! This may be hard to believe but this was even more delicious than it looks. The ahi tuna was cooked medium-rare and SO TENDER! The pepper seasoning on it made it just the right amount of spicy and honestly, you could eat the tuna all on its own; but the slaw, the aioli, and the rice brought it all together and made it feel like a complete meal. I especially loved how light it was! And yes, I most definitely cleaned this plate too. Nothing was left.

And lastly, I somehow managed to save room for dessert: Peach Pudding Upside Down, Brown Sugar Pecan Gelato

I'm not just saying this but this is a desert I would happily eat every night. I don't even know what to say other than this needs to be a REGULAR dessert item on Rose's menu so everyone can experience it. If you're like me and you like sweets but not overly sweet [where you can only have one bite] this dessert is it! Because while sweet, in no way is it overwhelming. It's perfect. And that goes for both the peach cake and the gelato.

Are you drooling over your keyboard yet? The best part about this is that I got all 3 courses for $28! Restaurant Week ends on Sunday, the 20th and there are many participating restaurants to choose from but I highly encourage you to make the time for Rose's; especially if you're planning a date night this weekend.

This may have been my first time at Rose's but its definitely not my last.
