Children Reading Books to Puppies is Absolutely Adorable [Video]

A bunch of Missouri elementary school kids recently visited their local Humane Society to read books to shelter dogs. If this doesn't warm your heart, I don't know what will.

The kids in the video are members of Club Hope, the Humane Society of Missouri's after-school program for elementary students. On December 12, a handful of students picked out their favorite books, went to their local Humane Society, and read aloud to the shelter dogs.

According to People, the experience is great for socializing the pups and improving the children's reading abilities. Kathy Warnick, president of the Humane Society of Missouri, told People, “Our shy dogs learn to relax around new people and our high energy dogs learn that calm behavior is desirable. In addition, the program allows the kids to improve their reading skills by offering an easy and attentive, not to mention adorable, listening audience.”
