Cher is on the mend from her recent illness but her doctors have advised her recovery from a virus will take longer than previously expected.

Because of that, her Dressed to Kill Tour concert previously scheduled Oct. 20 at Van Andel Arena has been postponed, according to spokeswoman Lynne Ike.

The rescheduled Dressed to Kill (D2K) Tour dates, including a new date for the Grand Rapids concert, is expected to be announced next week.

Cher has completed 49 performances on the tour, which will now resume Nov. 9 in Lubbock, Texas. She is touring with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo.

“The initial viral infection affected her kidneys, which has delayed Cher’s recovery time," her spokesperson said in a statement. "Cher’s doctors have advised her to extend her rest period and expect her to make a full recovery."

In a statement, Cher said: “I want to thank all my fans for their good wishes, patience and prayers. The doctors assure me that I will be totally well by November 9th and ready to perform my show. I’m truly sorry that I can’t get on the stage sooner.

"But the good news is that I’m on the mend and feeling better every day. I can’t wait to see you all. I’ll be ‘Dressed to Kill’ in my unbelievable new Bob Mackie gowns and promise you an unforgettable night.”

Ticket-holders for the now-to-be-rescheduled Van Andel Arena performance are encourage to hang on to them for the new concert date. However, patrons can get a refund on the tickets where they purchased them.
