We knew 'Step Up' and 'Magic Mike' actor Channing Tatum can dance. But can he sing?

At the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the animated feature, 'The Book of Life,' rapper Biz Markie made a surprise appearance during the Q&A and began singing his 1989 hit, 'Just a Friend.' To the audience's delight, Tatum joined in with him to sing the familiar words. Click on the video above to check out the memorable moment.

Tatum was on stage with Christina Applegate and Ron Perlman to promote their upcoming film, 'The Book of Life," which is co-written and directed by Jorge Gutierrez. Gutierrez revealed that many mainstream songs would make an appearance in the film, including Markie's 'Just a Friend.'

According to 20th Century Fox's official synopsis, the film "is the journey of Manolo (Diego Luna), a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears."

'The Book of Life' opens in theaters Oct. 17.
