Certain Baby Products Are Making Babies Test Positive For Weed
When my fiance became pregnant we began to stock up on baby essentials. We currently have enough baby wash and lotion to last years. A new report of babies testing positive for marijuana has got us questioning our stockpile of Johnson and Johnson products.
ABC news reported yesterday that Johnson and Johnson’s Bedtime Bath, CVS Night-time Baby Bath, Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash and Aveeno Baby Wash and Shampoo are all causing babies to test positive for THC.
A hospital in North Carolina became concerned when a substantial amount of babies were testing positive. After some investigating, researchers found that when the urine came into contact with the skin before being tested, it could cause a false positive. After a simple blood test the babies tested negative.
Two chemicals commonly found in baby washes, polyquarternium-11 and cocamidopropyl betaine, can cause positive THC results. Some mothers of babies who tested positive have claimed they never have been around illicit drugs. I have a feeling some lawsuits in the near future will be popping up. Would you use these products on your baby, knowing this info? Leave your response in the comments below.
