‘The LEGO Movie’ Review

Few things scream "cash grab" as loudly as a movie about a popular children's toy, as these productions rely highly on the brand recognition of children and nostalgia of adults. Making a good movie inspired by pre-existing playthings is such a rare thing that it almost seems impossible. Thankfully, Phil Lord and Chris Miller -- the directing duo behind the charming 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs' and the hilarious '21 Jump Street' reboot -- are known for turning terrible-sounding projects into spectacularly entertaining adventures. And they've done the impossible with 'The LEGO Movie', creating a wonderful narrative that perfectly captures the wonder and joy of playing with the iconic building blocks.

True Story: I Learned Everything I Know About Challenger Explosion from Very Special Episode of ‘Punky Brewster’ [Video]

Today (Jan. 28) marks the 28th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger breaking apart almost immediately after it launched.

To say that I remember that day - where I was, and what I was doing when I heard the news - would be a lie. I was three years old (almost four). I probably barely had any idea what was happening. But, I DO very vividly remember that it happened, and that's all thanks to a very special episode of my favorite childhood TV show, "Punky Brewster."

Wendy Forgot Her Hair Tie And Attempts To Improvise [Photos]

Today has been a weird day. I noticed half way to work this morning that I forgot to put my glasses on. I wasn't surprised, really, as yesterday I had come to work with two unmatching (but very similar) boots on. It's been a heck of a week.

The no glasses thing has been annoying, but not too problematic. However, this afternoon I discovered a bigger problem - I forgot to bring a hair tie to work! I ALWAYS have a hair tie around my wrist, but this morning it must have slipped my mind. I decided it was time to improvise. Below is a series of photos of how that went.

Lifetime Remakes ‘Flowers In The Attic’ and It Is Just as Horrible as You Would Think

I like to think of myself of a well-read individual who enjoys literature from various genres.

I enjoy historical fiction, books with lots of satire that try to make some sort of profound statement about the folly of man, and occasionally what I like to call "fluff books," which are ones that I can easily breeze through in an afternoon while lounging on the sofa.

Make Your Work Day A Little More Comfy With Dress Yoga Pants

Why?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

No, for real, why in the world are dress yoga pants a thing now? I get that people really like to be comfortable, and that we spend the majority of our waking hours at work, but this is taking things just a little too far.

What’s Something That USED To Be Completely Unacceptable But Now Seems Totally Fine To Most People [POLL]

Last week on my show, we were talking about things that used to be completely socially unacceptable when we were kids, but now seem totally fine to most people. It was inspired by a conversation I was having with some co-workers around the office where we came up with things like living together before getting married, calling people after 9pm, and online dating.

Then, it was your turn to chime in! Callers talked about things like the inappropriate nature of a lot of shows on TV, talking back to adults, etc. And we took to Facebook to ask about it, too. Here's what you had to say.

Wendy Relives The Weird Canadian TV Shows Of Her Youth [Videos]

I grew up in the Upper Peninsula. I was pretty close to Canada, so we got a lot of Canadian TV stations. My dad loved it because "Hockey Night In Canada" was always on. I loved it because I had a lot of kids' shows to choose from.

While all of you here in GR probably only had whatever was on PBS ("Sesame Street", "Mr. Rogers", etc.), us kids in the UP had those options PLUS some weird Canadian knock-off versions that for some reason I always ended up watching. Allow me to introduce them to you.

You Can Now Buy Disney Princess Lingerie

You read that right. Disney. Princess. Lingerie. Because if there's one thing that I want my lingerie to emulate, it's a fictional character that my four-year-old niece looks up to.

Wendy’s Top 10 Songs Of 2013 – No. 1: A Great Big World’s ‘Say Something’ [Video]

I can't believe I've already made it to the moment of unveiling my No. 1 song of 2013!

There are so many songs that I loved this year that it was really hard to narrow it down to just 10.

But when I started to compile my list, I knew straight away that my No. 1 song of the year would be "Say Something," by A Great Big World. This song spoke to me from the moment that I first heard it.

It's one of those songs that so full of emotion that when listening to it, you actually feel like it emotes for you. So powerful, and so awesome.

Wendy’s Top 10 Songs Of 2013 – No. 2: Imagine Dragon’s ‘Demons’ [Video]

Coming in at No. 2 on this year's list of my top 10 songs of the year is a song by a band that I admittedly didn't immediately fall in love with. While Imagine Dragons has grown on my throughout this year, it wasn't until I heard their song "Demons" that they won me over as a true and die hard fan.

Yes, they have some other great songs, but there's something about "Demons" that struck a cord with me and pretty much guarantees that I will be a lifelong Imagine Dragons fan.

Wendy’s Top 10 Songs Of 2013 – No. 3: Passenger’s ‘Let Her Go’ [Video]

I can't believe we've already made it to No. 3 on my list of my "Top 10 Songs of 2013"! Coming in at No. 3 is a song that I fell in love with the second that I heard it, Passenger's "Let Her Go".

Why do I love it so much? Well, the song itself is beautifully haunting, but it's the singer's voice that really brings it all together for me.
