Kanye West and Russell Simmons Visit Occupy Wall Street Protest, Leave Quickly [PICTURE]

The Occupy Wall Street protests are going strong in several cities, and now famous names are starting to get involved.

Gothamist reports that hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons guided Kanye West through the crowds of the Occupy protest in New York City’s Zuccotti Park on Monday afternoon, but their brush with the front lines of class warfare didn’t last long. After a brief cameo, both Simmons and West got into a car and left.

Michigan Beaches May Go Smoke-Free

While in Grand Rapids this week, Governor Rick Snyder introduced the Health and Wellness plan.  One part of this plan is to give the DNR the power to make state beaches smoke free.

The need to improve overall health and the desire keep our beaches clean were both cited as reasons to go smoke-free at Michigan owned and operated beaches.

Michigan Bar Owners May Ban Lawmakers Over Smoking Ban

Bar and restaurant owners who are upset about Michigan's workplace smoking ban have dreamed up a ban of their own to fight back.

An organization called Protect Private Property Rights in Michigan claim  that roughly 500 bars statewide plan to ban state lawmakers from their establishments starting September 1st.

Judge Orders Striking Central Michigan University Faculty Back To Work

The faculty at Central Michigan University was on strike when classes began this morning.

Now an Isabella County judge has ordered the faculty back to work.  The faculty union says they will comply with the order.
