Michigan May Raise Blood Alcohol Limit From .08 To .10 For Drivers

Prior to 2003, drivers in Michigan weren't considered drunk unless they had a blood alcohol content of .10.

Current law sets the legal blood alcohol level at .08. The legal blood alcohol level will return to the pre-2003 level of .10 this fall unless a new law is voted in.

Newly Signed ‘Kelsey’s Law’ Will Ban Teen Drivers From Using Cell Phones [Audio]

Late Tuesday, one mother's hard work from the last two years paid off in a big way. Bonnie Raffaele, whose daughter Kelsey was tragically killed in an accident in 2010, got to see "Kelsey's Law" signed by Governor Rick Snyder. The law, which affects teen drivers in Michigan, prohibits the use of cell phones while driving. I had a chance to talk to Bonnie this afternoon about Kelsey's Law and what it means to her. Woman Being Jailed In Berrien County For Uttering Profanity At County Clerk’s Office

A woman who recently moved from Arizona to Indiana to be closer to her family has found herself locked up in the Berrien County Jail for swearing while she was at the County Clerk's Office. LaRue Ford, who has never been in trouble with the law previously (and has a master's degree in social work), spent the entirety of the holidays in jail because of her potty mouth when she went to the clerk's office to take care of a speeding ticket.
