Authorities are telling people to stay away from the Grand River (as in, don't touch it), but a few West Michigan residents decided to take the the flooded river on jet skis and take video of the flooding around the area. And I'm pretty glad they did.

Volunteers are planning to work throughout the weekend in Grand Rapids to fill thousands of sandbags as part of an effort to hold off West Michigan floodwaters.
Several media outlets were reporting Friday morning that 1,200 sandbags had already been filled, but the city is hoping to fill 50,000 of them in order to keep the Grand River at bay

If residents have an urgent emergency or medical issue, they should call 911. For water-related non-emergency assistance or evacuation, a 24-hour hotline can be reached by calling (616) 530-7331. This hotline will only provide response to water-related issues.
