Gerald Ford Statue Unveiled At The Presidential Museum [VIDEO]

Plans to unveil the new Gerald R. Ford statue at the presidential museum were pushed up by a couple of days to clear the schedule for a much more somber event...the arrival of Betty Ford's body.

The former first lady died on Friday at the age of 93 and will lie in repose at the museum Wednesday starting at 7 p.m.

America's fight against obesity got the day off Monday when 7-Eleven hands out free Slurpees in honor of its unofficial birthday -- June 11, or 7/11. Get it?

The convenience store expected it would hand out five million of the popular frozen treats weighing -- you guessed it -- 7.11 ounces.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission there were 9,500 fireworks-related emergency room visits last year.

ALDI To Hold Job Fair June 27th

ALDI is holding a job fair next Monday for its new store on Knapp Street.  The event begins at 7:00 A.M. at the ALDI store located at 5114 28th Street SE, Suite B.

A company leader told WZZM 13 that ALDI is doing so well and able to expand because it saves shoppers money in these tough economic times.  He says that ALDI's competitive wages also allow the company to land the best talent out there.

Organizers for this weekend's Harbor Island Sun Fest have announced that Lifehouse & former "American Idol" contestant Chris Medina will not be appearing at this weekend's festival.
