One of West Michigan's favorite signs of spring is beginning to take shape.

Butterflies are returning to Frederik Meijer Gardens and the Butterflies Are Blooming exhibit will open soon!

Last week, chrysalises began to arrive at Frederik Meijer Gardens in preparation for the March 1 opening of the Butterflies Are Blooming exhibit.

The dozens of chrysalises will hatch in a couple of weeks, just in time for the 18th annual Butterflies Are Blooming exhibit at the gardens. The butterflies come from Asia and Africa as well as Central and South America.

The Butterflies Are Blooming exhibit draws about 150,000 guests each year and runs from March 1-April 30.

Baseball and butterflies are back!

Warm temperatures?  Not so much.
