Most of last week I tried to get on board with the trend of putting butter in my coffee, the verdict is in.

There's no way I'm doing this every morning.

I came up with this verdict not because of the taste, or the appetite suppression, but because the results were marginal (pun intended).

I could see putting the 2 tablespoons of butter into the 2 cups of coffee on occasion. A good example would be right before a morning run. I've found that eating a full meal before a run is a bad idea, I think the butter coffee would work great for that. You would get the energy without the feeling of yacking up your morning eggs. If you're in a rush and don't have time to cook up a good breakfast, this might come in handy too, but there is more prep work to this than just brewing up a couple cups of coffee.

As an every day routine, I can't see where that much butter, in place of a balanced meal, is a healthy idea.

There you have it, the verdict is in! Not doing it!
