Dumb criminal stories are always great, and even better when they involve celebrities.  This past week Montreal police arreseted a man for breaking into Celine Dion's home in Laval, Quebec. Did he trash the place? Steal all her valuables? Well, if snacks from the fridge are considered valuable, then yes.

According to BBC News, local Laval man Daniel Bedard, 36, jumped a fence and then used a garage door opener (discovered in an unlocked car) to break into the house. Once inside, it appears he had a bite to eat, smoked a few ciagarettes, and then drew himself a bath.

"He opened the water faucets, was pouring a nice warmish bath. He even managed to eat some pastry that was in the fridge," reports Montreal police spokesman, Franco Di Genova.

Bedard eventually set off an alarm, bringing police to the scene. When confronted he told police he was a family friend. After his story did not check out with security, he was arrested.

Not surprisingly, Bedard was sent to the hospital for physiactric evaulations. He has since been released and charged with breaking and entering, car theft and causing property damage.

Dion and her husband and childen were not at home at the time of the break in and illegal bathing.
